There are few changes that impact the overall supply chain and customer experience as much as improving internal employee morale and employee motivation. While this may seem more challenging during an economic downturn, there are numerous low-cost avenues available to all managers which can offer a selection of easily implemented, high impact activities to generate tangible improvements in motivation.
People work for many different reasons and pay has actually been shown to be surprisingly low down on the list of prioritised work benefits, along with other traditional reward and recognition components. Our reasons for working are as individual and unique as we are, but what we get from our work impacts our morale, our personal motivation and our quality of life and life/work balance.
To create positive employee motivation, you need to treat employees as if they matter, because they do!
